The UDI is a combination device that offers the diver different functions:

– 14 ready-made text information, which is entered via a computer, can be sent and received.

– SOS signal to be sent to other divers or to the boat

– Remote SOS signal

– “Homing” function allows easy finding of the entry point/boat in connection with the surface station)

– The 3D gyro compensated compass allows precise navigation up to 60° tilt angle

– RGBM dive computer, adjustable to 99% oxygen content

– Interface connection to laptop/computer to download data

– Up to 4 different networks are available for diving groups

Sending texts:

The range is 500 meters.

The texts are entered via a computer before the dive.

Texts can be sent among a group of divers as well as to the boat (surface station).

When text information has been received, the receiver sends an acknowledgement of receipt, so the sender knows that his partner has actually received the information.

SOS: Remote SOS: Homing: UTC UDI Overwater Station, Navigation- communication dive computer.

[1718
1102,1108,1107

post-14607","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_brand-utc","product_cat-dive-shop-uw-products","product_cat-udi-dive-computer","product_cat-unterwasser-audio-hydrophone-en","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","product-type-simple

Based on the “Text Messaging Technology”, the diver is able to send and receive up to 14 different texts with the UDI.

A diver in distress can send a distress call to all divers (equipped with the UDI) as well as to the surface station. The UDI then shows the direction and depth of the diver in distress to all who receive the distress signal. Thus, for the first time, it is possible to find a diver in distress effectively and quickly.

If a diver suspects that his dive buddy needs help, has lost dive buddy, he can send a remote SOS signal, if this signal is not answered, it will turn into an SOS call and lead to the diver in distress.

In conjunction with the surface unit, all UDI users are able to find the entry point/boat again. When the “homing” signal is activated, the display shows the direction in which to swim.

The surface station can also send a homing signal to signal to the divers, or even just a specific diving group, that they should return.
