The AQUATICA A7rIII UW case is specially designed for the SONY A7RIII camera.

This new SONY camera records images up to 42 mp and video sequences up to 4K quality. (BSI Sensor)

The A7rIII camera is a full-frame sensor camera with the “Back Illuminated technology”, a perfect technique especially in underwater photography, as it allows you to take pictures in extremely dark light situations, among other things.

By dispensing with the classic mirror in DSLR camera construction, the camera becomes smaller, more compact and more robust.

By dispensing with the mechanical mirror (DSLR), the camera is very compact, but still of the highest quality workmanship and robustly built.

Ideal for use under water due to individual function assignment. Shutter speed, aperture selection and ISO setting can be quickly and easily ergonomically selected without taking your hands off the handles.

The e-mount lens mount allows the use of an incredibly wide range of lenses, such as SONY lenses, of course, but also lenses from other manufacturers such as CANON and Leitz.

The recording technology in the SONY A7rII allows direct video recording in 4K 30p quality for the first time

Save to the internal memory card or uncompressed 4:2:2 8-bit signal via HDMI, or both even in parallel.

It even allows internal processing of full-frame 4K video sequences to the entire width of the sensor.

The 5-axis image stabilizer guarantees shake-free steady video recordings.

During the development of the new A7rIII housing, great importance was attached to optimal and practical ergonomics in handling under water. All “main functions”, i.e. the camera controls that are constantly needed, are logically and ergonomically accessible without taking your hands off the handles. During development, new ideas and techniques were implemented to ensure the best and practical camera operation.

Thanks to a new housing construction technology, it is even possible to operate the joystick of the camera under water.

During development, a lot of attention was paid to making all important camera functions easily accessible and operable, because only then can these functions be implemented in a practice-oriented manner.

For 25 years, AQUATICA housings have had practical, robust and removable grips that have proven themselves in thousands of uses. These robust, yet lightweight grips allow the camera to be operated even in extremely low water temperatures. There are threads on the top of the grips to safely and firmly adapt light arms such as the AQUATICA Delta 3 arm system. This means that no annoying flash arm has to be attached directly to the housing.

The A7rII housing already comes with 2 flash connectors.

This means that there are no further costs due to accessories required later. There are several flash connections available: Optical, IKELITE and NIKONOS 5 (N%) connections .. of your choice. All flash connections can be easily replaced without special tools.

The standard version of the housing is already equipped with an optical “Galileo” finder eyepiece. Of course, the LCD screen can be seen via the rear viewing panel. Aquatica optionally supplies 2 additional eyepieces, a 90° and a 45° viewfinder, which can be easily installed by yourself. As an accessory, there is a sun hood that prevents the LCD from being seen in stronger ambient light.

Aquatica offers a wealth of high-quality ports, 3 different flat ports, 10cm/ 15 cm/ 20 cm and 23.5 cm super wide-angle ports, in optical mineral glass as well as in optical acrylic glass. The port system is complemented by a variety of port extension rings to be able to use e.g. zoom lenses under water. It is interesting that the same ports as all DSLR housings and also video housings fit the SONY A7rII housing. The large viewfinder systems of the DSLR housings also fit.

The AQUATICA A7rII housing can be ordered or retrofitted with the “Surveyor” leak alarm/ or with the vacuum system – to detect, order or retrofit possibly defective O-rings/leaks.

To prevent accidental opening of the housing, the locks are equipped with an additional safety lever.

The housing is milled from a solid block of special, seawater-resistant aluminum (6061 T6). This high-quality material is primarily used in aerospace technology. This material is known for its corrosion resistance. The housing is hard anodized and additionally polyurethane coated/ vapor-deposited under heat (Certified according to A:A:M:A: 2603-98 specification) Due to this additional surface protection, Aquatica housings can survive the toughest applications for a long time. Housing inserts of more than 3000 dives are not uncommon.

The transmission elements/shafts are made of the highest quality stainless steel. To prevent possible electrolytic corrosion, all Aquatica housings are equipped with sacrificial anodes.

The housing has 2 flash connection feedthroughs and 3 “blind feedthroughs” to transmit e.g. the video signal (external monitor, surface transmission etc.)
